For the first quarter all classes are learning about the Scientific Method. Elephant Toothpaste was a big hit as we began learning the steps. Many older students had a pretty good idea of what was going to happen, but they were still only making a hypothesis. As we did the activity I directed the students to think in the terms of observe, question, hypothesis, experiment, analyze results, and communicating with others.
