Perrine

Perrine Panthers

Check out all that Perrine students have been up to the past few weeks:

1st grade is learning about matter. Here they are checking to see if they can get their finger though a foam shape.....it's pretty tough!

2nd grade is learning about habitats and this week it a desert habitat. They read an article and answered questions. They did an amazing job!

3rd grade is studying food chains/food webs. They are using cards with animals and what the animals eats and what eats it. They really worked together to make a chain.

Mrs. VanOstran's class is working on their presentations of plant adaptations in a particular habitat. I can't wait until they present in a few weeks.

Some classes designed and built Christmas trees out of pipe cleaners and pom poms.                 They had amazing designs!

A few classes at Perrine experimented with liquids and candy canes. Just what does happen when you put candy canes in water, oil, lime juice, or vinegar. We found out they all dissolve the candy cane but at different rates. Interesting things happen to the colored stripes on the candy canes also. They are in a striped pattern in the liquid.

5th graders working together to gather information about the parts of a cell.
